Gala Concert - European Brass Band Championships 2011 (Montreux)
The Saturday Evening Gala Concert at the 2011 European Brass Band Championships, held at Auditorium Stravinski, Montreux, Switzerland on Saturday 30 April 2011. Entitled "Swissness!", the first half of the concert included Cory Band featuring Hammer Dulicmer Soloist Nicolas Senn and Euphonium Soloists David Childs and David Thornton. Following the interval, we heard the dramatic sounds of various Swiss Horns (Alphorns) played by Heinz Della Torre, and Yodeller Franziska Wigger accompanied by the Swiss Brass Consort. The Consort also play a number of their own items and feature solos from Patrick Ottiger, Markus Muff and Heinz Saurer.
