RNCM International Brass Band Festival 2025 - Athena Brass Band
In the second concert of the 2025 RNCM International Brass Band Festival, filmed at the RNCM Concert Hall on the morning of Saturday 25 January 2025, Simone Rebello introduces Athena Brass Band, the US's first all-female brass band. Named after Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, the band is conducted by Jessica Sneeringer and Mareika Gray and features a programme by all-female composers. We also hear four soloists from the band: Jennifer Oliverio, Ashley Hall-Tighe, Bente Illevold & Gail Robertson.
Please note that the performance of Ghosts of Industry by Lucy Pankhurst will be added to the video following the North American Brass Band Championships in early April.
